“Your home cannot
be too tight.” |
Our Service
Our goal is to help homeowners, architects, designers and contractors build and live in healthy, energy efficient buildings. We guarantee energy savings, thermal comfort and excellent indoor air quality. Our service includes design aid, construction guidance and certification for new homes through the U. S. Green Building Council’s LEED for Homes program as well as Energy Star HERS rating which includes energy audits, testing and weatherization for new and existing homes.
USGBC LEED for Homes
LEED for Homes is a new construction certification system useful in guiding the cost effective design and construction of efficient homes. LEED homes use less energy, water and natural resources; create less waste; and provide clean air and comfortable living conditions. Smaller utility bills, thermal comfort, less exposure to mold, mildew and other indoor toxins are some of the benefits of a LEED home. A LEED home includes Energy Star HERS Certification. With good design and planning a LEED home has greater value than a similar home built to 2006 IEEC Code for a comparable cost.
Energy Star for New Construction
A new Energy Star home built to the HERS standard is a more valuable home for many reasons. It is more efficient, cleaner and has a higher resale value than an equivalent 2006 IEEC Code compliant home. It is “Better than Code.” We provide design guidance and construction follow through to insure that your new home meets Energy star standards.

Energy Star for Existing Homes
A home energy audit is the first best step in making your existing home more healthy and efficient. An audit will help you understand exactly how your home uses energy and find the simplest pathway to efficiency and good indoor air quality. We offer a comprehensive, whole-house approach to improving energy efficiency and comfort at home using modern building science and sophisticated testing equipment.
Financing
Our service enables Energy Efficient Mortgages (EEM) for new home construction and Energy Improvement Mortgages (EIM) for existing homes. Local banks will lend you money for energy improvements based on the performance gains we predict for your home.
