Bruce Glanville
Bruce was raised on the New England coast and grew up sailing and fixing boats with his Dad. After college he furthered his education studying Naval Architecture and went on to design and build custom yachts in Newport RI. When the 70’s energy crisis collapsed the luxury yacht business Bruce segued into an enduring career in film production. The following 25 years were spent filming movies and commercial advertising, and culminated at Scripps with HGTV and The Food Network. As Senior Producer, he was a key part of the promotional team that put those networks on the map. Following Scripps Bruce was a founding partner in the successful Knoxville commercial production company, Tantrum Pictures.
Bruce enjoys raising his two young children, Thomas 12 and Marena 6. Their struggles with asthma, allergies and colds prompted him to look into the reasons behind the high incidence of respiratory illness in this region. Two relevant areas he has pursued were building science and methods for controlling indoor air quality. Working with scientists at Oak Ridge National Labs, Energy Star and the US Green Building Council, he has found some interesting answers.
Bruce’s new company, On Earth Energy Group LLC, now provides these answers for homeowners. His consultancy researches, evaluates and recommends simple solutions to improve poor Indoor Air Quality and energy loss in residential housing. Bruce also brings his service to the public via speaches and a local cable TV show Health, Energy and Awareness.
